The Official Town Jester for Buckingham,
appointed on November 1st 2008
Sam Cross became the first officially appointed Jester for the town of Buckingham. He was appointed by the council and announced by Cllr Howard Mordue, Mayor of Buckingham on November 1st 2008 at the bonfire celebrations. Before Sam there had never been an official town jester but the town was a regular haunt of Archibald "Archy" Armstrong, Jester to King Charles I and King James VI.
The tradition has made an historic return and The Jester can be seen attending various events during the year. With skills ranging from traditional magic and juggling to modern balloon modelling and physical comedy, the Jester's performances are tailored for any audience at any event, helping to ensure maximum success, laughter and foolishness.
